My Dog? What Dog?
It was in the city that Plum and Dog's relationship started to go wrong.Up until then Plum had behaved perfectly. In fact, she'd been so kind, Dog thought she was already fully trained. She must have a dog in her life before, he told himself; one who really knew how to train her.
But Plum had never had a pet before, as Dog realized the moment he set his paws inside the flat. No dog had ever lived there. And no cat or bird either, for that matter: they would have left a scent. The flat smelled of human being and nothing else. It didn't take Dog long to work out that Plum acted on a whim when she came to the dog pound. Now that she was back home again, she was busy with her bedroom and her toys and her friends and her old routine. She'd forgotten all about Dog.
